Despite frigid temperatures which reached into
the low-20's there was a great turnout for the
2008 Splash and Dash. Jumpers had to charge
their way through the ice and snow which built
a barrier between the beach and Lake Michigan.
With the help of Mr. Racine (MC) and the Racine
County rescue divers the Splash and Dash had
another successful and safe jump this year.
With checks still rolling in it appears the Splash and Dash event will raise more than $23,000 this year. This years proceeds will be used for $1,000 scholarships which will be distributed through the Racine Kiwanis Foundation. Some of the money will also be donated to both HALO and the Racine County Foodbank.
We hope to see everyone next New Year's Day for another great time at the Splash and Dash of Racine.
